Waynesville , Missouri Ice/Snow Storm

North American Mission Board Call-Out:

Request:

The North American Mission Board (NAMB) has authorized South Carolina Disaster Relief to target and respond to Waynesville,
Missouri
due to the crippling ice storms last week.  Chainsaw units are in dire need to respond.
Missouri has asked for chainsaw teams to respond over the next four to five weeks.  Our White Hat, Steve Chrisman, just got to Missouri this today.  He said they have already received over 300 requests for assistance on damage to homes and property.

Steve is on-site and assessing the needs in Missouri .  Teams such as: assessment, feeding, chaplains, and more may be called-out over the next few days to assist in Missouri .  Please watch for forthcoming e-mails about these needs.

CHAINSAW: GREATLY NEEDED - Anyone trained in Chainsaw can call their coordinator or the Disaster Relief office for further information or to be placed on a team. We are hoping to send at least four teams per five day rotations.   If your trained area/church/group is willing to take a team to Waynesville, please inform your coordinator, who will in turn contact the Disaster Relief office for scheduling.  Chainsaw teams will travel two (2) days up work five (5) days and travel two (2) days home.  If you would like to lengthen the time, please let us know.  You will sleep at the camp next to the church (you will only need to bring your linens and towels), showers are on-site, and you will eat out of a fixed kitchen.

E-MAIL ADDRESSES : Please note that we have all of the volunteers in our system now.  But when we e-mailed our “CALL-OUT” earlier this week, over 550 e-mails were returned with bad e-mail address.  So if you know of anyone that has NOT received an e-mail from me on this CALL-OUT, please forward this on to them or give them a call.  Have them drop me an e-mail so I may correct their e-address.  This is our best way to reach so many of our trained volunteers at one time.

The same rules apply as in any other CALL-OUT, we expect you to fax the “Volunteer Roster” prior to leaving for Missouri and your Blue Hat will be calling in to NAMB every four hours as per standard operating procedures.  For more information or to schedule, please call your coordinator or the Disaster Relief office.

For your convenience the Disaster Relief Director, Cliff Satterwhite, and the Disaster Relief Administrative Assistant, Brenda Lugmayer, e-mail addresses and phone numbers are listed at the bottom of this e-mail.

Please remember to pray for the people in Missouri that are dealing with this terrible winter storm and especially for those still without power.
